How excited I am to share my story with you! One of the first important things for you to know is that Mary Kay was put in my life at a time when I least expected it, but most needed it! Our family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in January 2000 from Alabama, where I had been a full time Mom, and a deaf education teacher. Not wanting to jump into the school systems mid-year, I started working as an administrative assistant. This was to help put my husband through school and contribute to our family finances that were very stretched with two boys (at the time one and three), tuition, living expenses, childcare, and the list goes on!

The ONLY reason I said yes to a Mary Kay facial was because a good friend let me know she was having an open house, and I thought I needed to at least stop by. I was not looking to change products, but of course, when I experienced the #1 Best Selling Brand, I was hooked! Shortly after trying the products, I was a guest at Rena Live. Although I did not sign my agreement that night, my recruiter set a follow-up appointment and in January 2001, I made a life-changing decision! I would like to tell you that my goals were big and lofty, but honestly, I was only looking to earn $50.00 a week so we could go on a date, have a babysitter, and go to the movies! In thinking back to my first goal poster, I put a picture of the red jacket, a savings account statement, and a picture of the Red Grand Am because those were the things that were "supposed" to be there, not because I really thought they were attainable. What surprised me was that by working my business only about 4 - 6 hours a week, I started to replace my full-time income!

With the combination of my work ethic and leadership that my Senior Director, Jeannie Helm provided, all of those dreams were realized, and many more! One of the most exciting things yet was earning my first car…a 2002 fully loaded RED Pontiac Grand Am! Brad and I had managed with one vehicle (and one payment!) and just juggled things to make them work while I was building my business. So you can imagine the thrill of going to the dealership, being treated like a queen, signing in two places, and sitting in a car that only had 5 miles on it when I put the key in the engine!!!

We have such an incredible company that allows us a variety of options. Choices about how much or little time you invest in your business, choices about the amount of income you want to make, choices about the kind of future you will have…it is all up to you. I'm so grateful that I considered the question, "What's the worst thing that can happen?" and took a chance on myself. My family, my life, and my future are forever changed!

September 2001   Earned the use of my first career car... the Pontiac Grand Am (only taking two months of qualification!)

April 2002   Debuted as an Independent Sales Director

June 2002   Earned Queen's Court of Sharing as Second Runner-Up with the coveted diamond Bee and runner-up sapphire/diamond ring, Earned Queen's Court of Personal Sales with diamond ring, Earned Double Star Achievement, Earned the use of my second career car... the Pontiac Grand Prix

March 2003   Earned the prestigious Mary Kay Honors Society award... ranked as the #5 Sales Director within her class, achieved at least $60,000 in unit wholesale production, and had a unit size of 50 unit members or more one year from your debut date

August 2003   Earned the use of my third career car... my first Pink Cadillac and brought my husband home to work with me full-time

December 2003   Became a Senior Sales Director...my first off-spring Sales Director

January 2004   Earned the company's state contest for Most Improved in the state of Alabama for Outstanding Unit Performance for 2003

November 2008 Highest unit retail of $91,101 and highest commission check of $11,472.80

January 2009 Recognized as the #1 Director and Most Improved Unit in Alabama for 2008 at Career Conference

Member of the Half-Million Dollar Circle of Achievement 2 times.

Member of the 650,000 Dollar Circle of Achievement 1 time and earned the Top Director Trip to Rome, Italy in 2009.

Earned multiple diamond rings worth over $15,000.

Earned the use of 6 Career Cars... 3 of which have been Pink Cadillacs.
